Micropigmentation is the medical term for cosmetic tattooing or permanent makeup. It is a non-surgical micro-procedure where tiny droplets of custom blended colors are skillfully deposited into the dermal layer of skin to simulate natural looking or well defined make-up. This process is a selective art form of traditional tattooing whereby the natural features of the face are enhanced and defined in the form of permanent eyebrows, eyeliner and or lip liner and color. The results are natural, immediate and last for up to 5 years.
In most cases discomfort is minimal. Procedures are performed with the most effective topical anesthetics available, providing nearly total numbing of the area involved.
The eyeliner and lip procedure do cause some swelling. Each client’s skin is unique to them and therefore it is difficult to specify the length of time the swelling remains, however, in most cases the swelling subsides within 3 days.
There is no down time at all after the eyebrow treatments. People with extremely sensitive skin may get a little red around the brow area. Redness should subside within 2-3 hours.
Microblading is permanent makeup. The procedure uses a hand tool with sterile, precise needles to gently etch natural and realistic looking “hairs” into the skin by implanting pigment beneath the surface of the skin. Similar to powder brows and ombre brows, microblading can correct or reconstruct lost eyebrow shape and structure. It is the perfect procedure for those who want to enhance their thinning, aging, or over-tweezed eyebrows.
Microblading will typically last around 1-3 years depending on age (mature/young skin) and skin type (normal/dry/oily). Each client’s individual color retention will vary. Skincare routines also affect the retention of pigment. Clients who tan or use products with Glycolic Acid will fade and/or change faster. To maintain color richness, a touch up is advised every 12-18 months after the initial procedure.
For most clients, discomfort is minimal because we use effective topical anesthetics to help numb the entire area involved in the procedure.
Absolutely NOT! Please do not wax, thread, tweeze, or modify the eyebrows for 2 weeks before the procedure. This is to allow the brow technician to design the most natural looking eyebrow for your face. You may resume your regular brow maintenance in 4 weeks, once the brows have healed.
The color will get darker the day after the treatment and will lighten 20%-50% within 2 weeks after that. Hence, no treatment is complete before the touchup session.
Yes, sometimes, eyebrow hairstrokes seem to have disappeared. That is normal. The strokes will resurface, and if they don’t, they will be topped with more color at your touchup appointment.
